Position Summary
As a General Worker Assistant, you will provide vital support across various site operations — from maintenance and housekeeping to assisting with basic tasks that keep our mining site running smoothly. This role is physically demanding, hands-on, and ideal for individuals who are reliable, safety-conscious, and ready to work as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general manual labour to support daily mining operations, including loading/unloading, lifting, carrying, moving materials, and basic site maintenance.
- Keep work areas, walkways, and communal zones clean, tidy, and safe. Regular housekeeping duties as required.
- Assist with basic maintenance – e.g., cleaning equipment, clearing debris, and preparing working areas under supervision.
- Help unload and store materials or supplies delivered to site; move and stack materials safely.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), company rules, and Health & Safety regulations at all times.
- Be ready to perform ad-hoc tasks assigned by supervisors or site managers.
- Work flexibly, including occasional overtime or shift variations, as required by the mining schedule.
Who We’re Looking For — Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent. NQF 4 certificate is an advantage.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labour and physically demanding tasks safely and consistently.
- Honest, reliable, punctual, and a good team player who shows respect for colleagues and supervisors.
- Good understanding of and commitment to workplace health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices.
- Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and adapt to changing work demands.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, often physically demanding environment.
- Readiness to undergo medical check-ups and security vetting, as part of the company’s hiring process.
