Hungry Lion YES Learnership 2026

The Hungry Lion YES Learnership 2026 is one of the most exciting opportunities available for young South Africans who want to gain real workplace experience while earning a monthly stipend. If you are between 18 and 35 years old, unemployed, and eager to begin your career journey, this learnership can help you take that first important step into the world of work.

The Hungry Lion YES programme forms part of the national Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative, which aims to empower youth who lack experience by offering 12 months of structured workplace training. Hungry Lion, one of South Africa’s fastest-growing quick-service restaurant brands, is opening doors for motivated youth who want to learn, grow, and build valuable skills.

About the Programme

The 2026 Hungry Lion YES Learnership runs for a full 12 months, from February 2026 to February 2027. During this time, learners receive workplace exposure either at the Stellenbosch Head Office or Kraaifontein Warehouse in the Western Cape.

This is not a classroom-based programme — learners are placed in a real working environment where they learn practical skills in:

  • Office administration
  • Customer service
  • Data capturing
  • Inventory and warehouse support
  • Workplace communication
  • Basic computer and digital skills

The aim is to help young people develop confidence, professionalism, and employability. Many past YES learners have moved into permanent roles at Hungry Lion, while others have used the experience to secure employment elsewhere. The skills gained are transferable across industries, which makes this programme extremely valuable for first-time job seekers.

Learners receive a monthly stipend, and Hungry Lion provides a supportive workplace environment to ensure participants complete the programme successfully.
