📚 The Programme: What it Offers

The Rosond Bursary Programme is designed to financially support full‑time undergraduate students in their 1st to 3rd year of study. Applicants from designated host‑communities will receive tuition and study‑related cost support, mentorship and the potential for work‑experience or future employment.  
Fields of study supported include:

  • Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil)
  • Data Science & IT
  • Geology & Mining Studies
  • Environmental Management
  • Finance & Supply Chain
  • Human Resources & Occupational Health & Safety
  • Technical Trades and related critical skills.
    Rosond’s objective is clear: help students from under‑represented communities gain access to education and build careers in industries in need of skilled talent. 

✅ Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Rosond Bursary, you must meet the following conditions:

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Be aged between 18 and 30 years at the time of application.
  • Have completed Matric (Grade 12) and be registered (or intending to register) full‑time at a recognised South African tertiary institution for your 1st, 2nd or 3rd year.
  • Be studying in one of the approved fields of study (listed above)
  • Have a minimum academic performance — typically an overall average of 60% or higher.
  • Be resident in, or from, one of Rosond’s host‑communities in provinces such as Gauteng, Limpopo, North West or Northern Cape. Priority may be given to applicants from these defined areas.
  • Provide evidence of financial need (household income, proof of address, registration at tertiary institution, etc).

📝 What You’ll Need to Apply

To complete your application, you will need to gather and submit the following documents:

  • Certified copy of your South African ID document.
  • Certified copy of your Matric certificate and/or latest academic transcript.
  • Proof of registration at your tertiary institution (or letter of acceptance).
  • A motivational letter detailing why you deserve the bursary, your career goals and how you plan to contribute back.
  • Proof of household income: payslips, bank statements, affidavit if unemployed, grant proof, etc.
  • Proof of residence (address verification) in one of the eligible communities.
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) may also be required.

Be sure to complete the application form (external applicant or dependent of employee) where applicable.


📅 Closing Date & Application Process

For the 2026 academic year, applicants are asked to submit their completed applications and supporting documents before the closing date of 16 November 2025.
